Project: Bio-gen offices

A large Bio-gen office complex in Maidenhead clearly needed repair to the damage caused by years of standing water. Thames Contracts, part of the Saper Glass Group asked EMS to assess and recommend a suitable remedial and maintenance programme. Two types of damaged rendering systems covering all external wall infill panels together with the external mineral wool wall insulation system around damaged doors and windows were first removed and replaced before skimming with a silicone render. New 45° ledges were created to help allow the standing water to be correctly deflected and to prevent further damage.

All repair and maintenance works were carried out using an ariel work platform, proving more cost effective than using conventional scaffolding.
