This spectacular grade 2 listed building was built originally as the gatekeepers’ house for a nearby manor house even has its own Holy Cross niche added by a neighbouring church in the 18th Century. The property has been lovingly cared for by its present owners who recently commissioned the sympathetically designed extensive underground addition to the rear. No ordinary extension, this basement extension has been discretely carved from the rear garden and has become affectionally known as ‘The Bunker’, it even has its own courtyard. The design and build grabbed the attention of Channel 4 who recently featured the project on their popular Extraordinary Extensions program.
EMS were proud to work on such a distinctive property applying first a Fassa Bortolo A96 system base coat to a damp-proof membrane with a reinforcement mesh and then adding a white silicone Fassa Bortolo RX561 1.5mm finish to a total of some 280m2 including two insulated concrete out buildings.
